Cichlids are fish in the Cichlidae family in the order Perciformes. The family Cichlidae a large family of perciform fish, is both vast and diverse. There are at least 1300 described species scientifically, making it one of the largest families of vertebrates. Many new species are discovered each year, and many species remain undescribed. The actual number of species is unclear, with estimates ranging between 1300 and 3000 species and 1900 species, suggesting a source. Cichlids span a wide range of body sizes, from species as small as 2.5 centimeters (1.0 inches) in length for larger species of about 1 meter (3 feet) long. As a group, cichlids exhibit a wide range of same body shapes, ranging from strongly laterally compressed species by species that are cylindrical and elongated. In general, however, cichlids tend to be large, oval-shaped medium and slightly laterally compressed, and generally very similar to the North American sunfishes in terms of morphology, behavior and ecology.

Many cichlids, especially the tilapia fish are important nutrients, while others are valued fishing. Many species, including angelfish, oscars, and album are also very popular in the aquarium trade. Cichlids are also the family of vertebrates with the greatest number of threatened species, most of them are in group Haplochromis. Cichlids are well known to have evolved rapidly in a large number of close morphologically different, but in the Great Lakes, including Lake Tanganyika, Victoria, Malawi, and Edward. The diversity of cichlids in the Great Lakes of Africa is important for the study of speciation of evolution. Many cichlids that have been accidentally or intentionally into freshwaters outside their natural range have become nuisance species such as tilapia in the southern United States.

They have installed 10 tanks in its class and students, in small groups of three or four divided.

“The team members experience a wonderful feeling of pride and accomplishment when they are fishing for their ability” to an appreciative audience and often incredulous.
